Here's why Polish javelin star Maria Andrejczyk auctions off Tokyo Olympic silver medal

Andrejczyk recently posted on her Facebook account that she stumbled found fundraising for 8-month-old Mioszek Maysa, who need surgery for a serious heart condition. She assisted in generating funds for the charitable cause by auctioning off her lone Olympic medal. Andrejczyk finished fourth at the 2016 Rio Olympics and recovered from bone cancer after being diagnosed in 2018. Her performance in the Tokyo Olympics was lauded.

Taking to Facebook, Andrejczyk wrote, "He also has support in advance from Winnie-a boy who didn't make it in time, but great people decided to donate his funds to Mi łooszk."
She went on to say that she wants to help him, which is why she is auctioning off her Olympic silver medal. However, Andrejczyk just revealed that a Polish grocery company won the auction with a price of $125,000. The funds obtained would now allow the youngster to have the essential operation at Stanford University Medical Center. According to specific media sources, the Polish grocery chain, Zabka, has chosen to return her award.
