For the past 17 days, the world witnessed epic sporting actions across verticles, thanks to the Tokyo Olympics. The athletes from across the globe entertained to the fullest while making their nations proud.

India, too, came up with its best-ever performance, winning seven medals. History was created when the nation won a hockey medal (bronze) after 41 years, while javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra bagged India's only second individual gold ever and the first in track and field events.

However, it all ended on Sunday, with the closing ceremony held at the National Stadium in Tokyo. As the fireworks went off at the venue for one last time, the organisers expressed gratitude towards every individual involved in the Games and for their role in making it a grand success.

As Japan's Crown Prince Akishino and Thomas Bach (International Olympic Committee president) appeared on the official stand, a video was played focusing on athletes, not regarding their performance, but their efforts to ensure a safe Games. The message it tried to present was there would be a better tomorrow, whose doors are soon to open.
