The Tokyo Olympics saw the Indian athletes put up their best performance, bagging seven medals, including a gold. Meanwhile, the athletes met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, as some of the athletes presented him with their memorabilia.

Meanwhile, Modi decided to put up the memorabilia for auction to generate funds for Namami Gange Mission to conserve and rejuvenate the Ganga river. The same was done on Friday, as it did attract some top bids.

Naturally, Neeraj Chopra's javelin, along with PV Sindhu's racket, attracted the top bids. As per the ministry's website, Chopra's javelin's opening bid was for ₹1 crore, while the base price for Sindhu's racket was set at ₹80 lakh.

Besides, boxer Lovlina Borgohain's boxing gloves were also put on auction, with a base price of ₹80 lakh, while the stole containing the signatures of the Olympic athletes had a base price of ₹90 lakh. Also, the hockey stick with the signature of the women's team was priced at ₹80 lakh.

Furthermore, the auction also contained the hockey stick of Indian women's hockey captain Rani Rampal, along with the sports gear and equipment of other Olympians and Paralympians, who won medals. The auction is set to continue until October 7 via e-auction on pmmementos.gov.in.
