The top Indian stars continue to rule on Day 2 of the Tokyo Olympics. In the table tennis sector, top female paddler Manika Batra won her opening match, as she ousted Margaryta Pesotska of Ukraine 4-3 on Sunday.

Although it was an intense clash between the two that lasted until the deciding set, it took 57 minutes for the entire match to finish. The opening two sets saw Batra being outplayed by Pesotska, as the latter's extensive efforts piled pressure on the former.

Nonetheless, Batra began her bid for a comeback in the following two sets, as she upped her ante, being innovative and aggressive at the same time. While Pesotska continued with the same approach as it was locked 3-3, Batra dominated in the final set, going all out, giving her opponent hardly any room to make a comeback.
