International level shooter Vartika Singh has accused Union minister Smriti Irani and two of her "aides" of demanding money from her for a government posting. The hearing in an MP-MLA court is scheduled for January 2.

Vartika's petition alleges that two aides claiming to be Smriti's aides sought Rs 25 lakh for her bid to become a member of a central women's commission.

Vartika claims that people close to the minister issued a fake letter to her, which appointed her as a central women's commission member.

Along with Smriti Irani, two of her alleged aides Vijay Gupta and Rajnish Singh have been accused in the case.

The development comes just days after Vartika herself was named in a police complaint by one of the accused in the case.

On January 2, the court will decide if the petition falls within its jurisdiction.
