He is 35-year-old. He is almost single-handedly motoring Manchester United’s unbeaten run in Premier League and in other competitions as well. He has already scored 12 goals in Premier League and 17 in all competitions this year. Only Diego Costa with 13 goals is ahead of him. He is none other than Zlatan Ibrahimovic!

You will be astonished to know, Zlatan has started 17 games in Premier League in 2016 and that is nothing less than phenomenal. Even Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho stated the same few days ago.

The former Swedish international is just two goals away from going past Lionel Messi’s tally of 51 goals in the calendar year. Ibrahimovic has been scoring in almost every game that he has started recently and he can actually achieve this feat against Middlesbrough on the New Year’s Eve at Old Trafford.

We will take a look at some of the super stats of Ibrahimovic in 2016:

  • Ibrahimovic has scored 50 goals in 55 games for both PSG and Manchester United. He is ahead of Luis Suarez(48) and Cristiano Ronaldo (42) and just one behind Messi.

  • He has scored 10 goals from outside the box this year equalling Messi’s number.

  • Ibrahimovic has managed to head 9 goals into the back of the net, which is three more than Ronaldo and Suarez.

  • The acrobatic Swedish striker has scored 45 goals from open play, which is astounding at this age.

Former Scottish footballer has already stated that ibrahimovic is no less than Messi. That statement might irk many but the numbers are favouring the 6 feet 5 inch striker of Manchester United.
