India rattles Australia Bowlers put hosts in command

The 4th Test between India and Australia has somehow proved that the Dharamsala pitch is one of the best ever wickets to be played on in this home season. What a game of Test cricket we are witnessing! India are on the verge of yet another home series victory and that too against Australia is the icing on the cake.

India lost six wickets at the end of Day two. On day three, Ravindra Jadeja and Wriddhiman Saha put together a crucial partnership of 96 runs before the former got out after scoring a fiery half-century. India were all out for 332 and they took a lead of 32 runs.

These 32 runs looked more valuable than they looked at lunch on Day three as Harsha Bhogle had tweeted earlier in the day. Indian bowlers came brought the rain on Australian batsmen right from the onset. The initial spell of Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar handed India three huge wickets of David Warner, Matt Renshaw and the big fish – the Australian skipper Steve Smith.

Glenn Maxwell and Matthew Wade tried to show some resistance but that did not last long as well. Yadav, Jadeja and Ashwin have picked up three wickets each and Bhuvneshwar picked up the priceless wicket of Smith.

Australians were rattled by the Indian bowlers in no time and they were bundled out for a paltry total of 137 runs. The visitors took a slender lead of 105 runs and the momentum quickly shifted in India’s favour.

India are now on a threshold of yet another series win and this series win should put the critics in place who had said that Virat Kohli’s presence will be missed by India. Not for once, India felt the absence of their leader as Ajinkya Rahane has done a commendable job with his captaincy duties in this cracker of a Test match.

It is only a matter of time for India to lift the Border-Gavaskar trophy on Tuesday! They should be able to do it in style as this has been an incredible home season for India.
