Set a lowly 100 to chase, openers Lokesh Rahul (47 not out) and Mandeep Singh (52 not out) made easy work of the target as they eased home with 35 balls to spare, setting up India's first-ever 10-wicket win in the T20 format.

Earlier, debutant Barinder Sran (4 for 10) broke the back of Zimbabwe's batting as the hosts were were restricted to 99 for 9 batting first.


Seamer Jasprit Bumrah (3 for 11) also chipped in with crucial wickets, as only Zimbabwe's wicketkeeper-batsman Peter Moor top-scored with 31, with everybody else failing miserably with the bat.


Sran was adjudged Man of the Match for his match-winning effort.

The third and decisive T20I will be played at the same venue on Wednesday.
