Here's who Juventus would target if Cristiano Ronaldo decides to leave

After a poor UEFA Euro 2020 campaign, Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal is currently taking some time out with his family before he returns to club football action. However, it is unclear as to where he would be playing next season.

The Portuguese sensation is currently contracted to Italian giant Juventus until the conclusion of the 2021-22 season. But, he is reportedly considering other options following a below-par season from the Bianconeri in 2020-21.

Juventus is pretty much confident that Ronaldo would be staying in Turin to see out his contract. However, if he decides to make the move, the Old Lady is ready to make a move for a suitable replacement for him, which happens to be a Barcelona superstar.

According to Sport, Juventus is eyeing Antoine Griezmann from Barca. The Spanish media outlet reports that since Barca is willing to offload some players as a means of a budget cut, due to its heavy debt, the Frenchman could be a part of that cut.

As far as Griezmann's performance is concerned, it has been average at Camp Nou, scoring 35 goals in 99 games. However, he had a great career in Atletico Madrid, scoring 135 in 257, while in his entire club career, he has netted 220 from 557.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo's affordability makes it an issue for any club, as he currently earns around €31 million per season in Juventus, while letting him go would allow Juventus to become flexible in terms of finances, thus being able to afford Griezmann. Although clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United continue to be in the running to have Ronaldo's services, they are not prioritising him as a transfer target.
