Novak Djokovic won a record 29th Masters title as he bested Briton Andy Murray in three sets to clinch the Madrid Open.

The Serbian saved seven break points in the final game to complete a  6-2, 3-6, 6-3 victory over defending champion Murray. This was Djokovic’s second Madrid title and his fifth of the year.

Murray's defeat also meant that Roger Federer moved to No.2 in the world.
