Portuguese sensation Cristiano Ronaldo is off to a dominating start with Manchester United, having scored three goals in two matches so far. He made his UEFA Champions League re-debut with the club on Tuesday, as it was up against BSC Young Boys at the Wankdorf Stadium in Bern.

As he got featured in the playing XI and made his way into the field, it became his 177th match in the tournament. Consequently, he equalled the all-time record of former Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

While Spanish midfielder Xavi Hernandez stays third (151), Argentine superstar Lionel Messi is fourth (149). However, Ronaldo's tally does not include the four qualifying matches he has played to date.

In the meantime, before the match started, Ronaldo was warming up on the pitch. During the session, he happened to kick one of the practice balls that unintentionally hit one of the stewards at the venue.

Immediately, Ronaldo crossed the advertisement LED boards and checked up with the steward, receiving medical attention. However, she seemed to be doing fine, as later, Ronaldo gifted her one of his jerseys.

As for the match, United ended up on a losing note. While Ronaldo opened the proceedings, scoring in the 13th minute, Aaron Wan-Bissaka was handed a red card in the 35th minute for a harsh tackle, as it maintained the lead at half-time.

Nevertheless, the Boys levelled it in the 66th minute. At the same time, it was four minutes into the added time when United gifted the match to the opponent, following a horrific back pass error from Jesse Lingard.

Currently, United is placed at the bottom of the table, with five more games to go. Meanwhile, on Sunday, it travels to London to take on eighth-placed West Ham United in the English Premier League 2021-22.
