12-year-old Bengaluru boy to represent India in Football for Friendship programme in Russia
A 12-year-old boy, Surya Varikuti who is a football fanatic and a defender from Bengaluru has been selected to represent India for the Football for Friendship social programme.
FollowFootball for Friendship, also known as F4F is a social programme, that aims towards driving youths towards football and developing a healthy lifestyle. It also strives towards promoting tolerance, open-mindedness, respect for different cultures and nationalities between children from across the globe.

A 12-year-old boy, Surya Varikuti who is a football fanatic and a defender from Bengaluru has been selected to represent India for the Football for Friendship social programme.
The young enthusiast is expected to join other young footballers from around the world in Moscow in June 2018. The players will be a part of 32 international teams and play against each other in the Gazprom Football for Friendship International Championship.

This year F4F has brought 211 countries together, and this is the second time India is taking part in this programme. Also, as per an open draw conducted in February, India was given the opportunity to select a defender for the programme.
Surya Varikuti is 12-years-old and lives with his parents and little brother in Bengaluru. He started playing at a young age of 5 in Stamford Youth Football League. He currently plays for the Roots Football School (RFS) in Bengaluru. Surya has had his own share of achievements as well. He along with his team won the Karnataka State Champions in India Youth League during the year 2017-18. And, as the saying goes age does not matter when it comes to passion, determination and talent.
