As trains are running full, private buses are charging almost thrice the normal fares during the Christmas and New Year time. People in Bengaluru who were to travel to tourist destinations are not really happy with this incredible rise in bus fares.
Spokesperson of a bus operator, who plies from Bengaluru to Kochi, actually said that as there is no decline in number of passengers and most of the people have been paying online. Indirectly, he meant there is no reason for which they should reduces the bus fares during this festive period.

Joint Commissioner (Bengaluru Urban) J Gnanendra Kumar stated that strict actions will be taken against the bus operators who are trying to fleece the passengers by charging them ridiculously. He also said that they have conducting surprise inspections across the city of Bengaluru.
