Malayalee scientist, family charred to death in US

A Malayalee researcher and his family were charred to death in their apartment in New Jersey on Monday.

 


 Vinod Babu Damodaran, hailing from Cherthala in Alappuzha, his wife Sreeja and 14-year-old daughter Aardra met with a tragic death after a fire broke out in their  Hillsborough apartment on Monday night. Sreeja is from Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta. 

 


Authorities have so far not officially released the details of the deceased in the apartment fire. But Damodaran's relatives back home received the tragic news when they contacted the University of New Jersey where he worked. 


Eyewitness accounts say that the fire broke out at 10 pm and quickly consumed the two storied apartment.

 


Known for his commendable findings in Biomedical Polymers, ‎Biomaterial and Medical Device used to call his parents in Kerala every evening. There was no news from him since 24th this month.  The researcher and his family moved to the apartment in New Jersey from Colorado two years back. 

 


The death of the three-member family would be officially confirmed only after DNA tests.
