Kundara case: Grandmother of victim arrested

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the death of 10-year-old at Kundara arrested the grandmother of the girl. It was found that the women were aware of the sexual assault carried out by her husband but didn't do anything to prevent it.
 

"Grandmother will be charged under the alleged suicide of the girl and sexual assault on minor," the police said. 
 

The elder sister of the victim during interrogation had said that she was present at the spot when her sister was writing a suicide note. The girl also revealed that she was asked to file a case against her father for sexually assaulting her. 
 

SIT believes that the elder sister, grandmother and mother of the victim was at first afraid to cooperate with investigations.

However, after undergoing repeated sessions with clinical psychologists, the elder sister said that her grandfather had continually tortured her both physically and mentally and forced her to file a case against her father. She also said that she was an eyewitness to her sister writing a suicide note.
 

The SIT had also found that the 14-year-old boy, who committed suicide in the neighbour hood, was sexually assaulted by Victor, the grandfather of the girls. The investigation team is also thinking of conducting a narco analysis of the son of Victor. The boy was found dead in his house in 2010. 
 

The 10-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide two months ago. The post-mortem report had revealed that she was subjected to sexual abuse, even three days before death.
