Home Minister flouts law; pillion ride turns controversial

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala was so carried away when he saw hundreds of party workers and voters that he gave the law 'a miss'. The minister took a harmless pillion ride and a video featuring the minister hitching a ride with a helmetless rider went viral. Wearing a helmet is mandatory, in the state and the minister failed to take notice.

The incident has stirred up a controversy as the law was broken by none other than the state home minister himself, who has launched many road safety awareness programmes and plans before. Now, will the police department that strictly enforces the helmet rule across the state take action against the riders?
