One sleek at a time : Inspiring story of Gaurav Aggarwal

Only a very few people would deny the fact of living a high life or don't have a dream of making it big in society in terms of name, money, or respect. Who does not want people to respect them, love them, obey them? Well, success is a combination of luck and hard work. Just the perfect amount of both adds up to a huge success. 

Gaurav Aggarwal who is one of the creators of this huge real-world problem-solving app called Sleek, says that destiny favours those who believe in hard work. In a world of lines, wait times, and inconvenience, Gaurav Aggarwal used his frustration, advanced engineering, and technical savviness to fuel and co-founded Sleek with his friend Spandana Nakka. People only see the good things in a person's life, but nobody wants to know about the struggle and hardships that a person has to go through to achieve that stature in life. Despite a few setbacks due to COVID-19, Sleek is currently living and serving, supporting essential businesses. Aggarwal says, "There were almost no events after March 2020 due to COVID-19. We had to pivot from Live Events to essential businesses, which was a long process but we succeeded. We are super excited for the post-COVID world. We envision a world where no one is physically waiting in line." 

Gaurav, who originates from India, doesn't come from a very financially strong background. He owes all his success to his hard work and his experience that came to him after handling massive technical projects for technology giants like Microsoft and Google. Gaurav spent his initial 20 years in Delhi. He was very fond of technology. He always admired the fact that technology can provide great ease of living to someone. He chose his passion as a career and pursued his graduation with a Bachelor's in Computer science from the University of Delhi. After that, he went to Stanford University in the USA to pursue his master's in Engineering, focussing on AI (Artificial intelligence).

After his bachelor's, he went on to work for LinkedIn, Google, and Microsoft. He led multiple projects for them, which made billions of dollars for these technology giants. Even after successfully leading the projects and making a good living in the USA, Gaurav was not somehow satisfied. He was always fond of technology, but he always had the dream of working for himself. He says his experience so far in companies that he has worked in was really pleasant, and he learned a lot during those times, but somehow he decided to quit and work on his own. Hence, emerged the app Sleek, Sleek is an app that provides people the option to be in line without actually holding a physical position in line. Just because of this creative innovation, Gaurav was listed in the Forbes 30 under 30 in 2021 list.
