Thousands throng to international total veg food festival by Red Ribbon

Chocolate Pani Puri, mud pot biriyani, roll ice cream, drink your selfie, Vietnam eatables and such other varieties of vegetarian food at the Super Ruchi’s International Food Fair at Freedom Park is attracting thousands, reported Kannada Prabha.

Krishnamurthy, director, Town Essential Pvt Ltd inaugurated the fair on Friday. The event organised by Red Ribbon has over 120 stalls crowded by foodies. The specialty is that traditional as well as modern innovative foods are available here.  There are also other shops selling household articles. 

Prof Shobha of Home Science College said this is a lovely way of introducing our youngsters to various kinds of food.  Especially our traditional foods.  Most of the visitors were interested in tasting everything.  A new experiment ‘Drink Your Selfie’ where one gest to click a selfie and within 10 seconds the photo is replicated on ice creams and lassi was an attraction with young and the old.

A stall where Vietnam food is served si also very popular. There are 20 kinds of junk food there. The Malnad stalls had traditional foods. The north Karnataka, Hyderbadi foods are also popular. New experiments like chocolate Paani Poori, eggless chocolates, Hebbani rotis, terra bites and such other items are also attracting foodies.

Red Ribbon head Anil Guptha said the response has been extremely good. More than expected. He aims to utilise the funds collected at the food fair to provide jobs for convicts who have served their term and released, with the help of NGOs working in this field.
