CM boasts his achievements, claims state forerunner in unemployment eradication

The State is a forerunner in investment and eradication of unemployment, claimed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, indirectly taunting the Central government, reports Kannada Prabha. For, unemployment average rate in the country is 3.7 per cent whereas in the State it is 2 per cent. In the last 18 months, about 15 lakh employments have been generated in the State. Compared to the overall picture of the country, the State is in a better position, he claimed.

He was speaking at a convention organised by 'India Today' on Tuesday. He was speaking on ‘What could be done for a better Karnataka?’ According to Assocham report in the last 18 months, the State has received proposals for investments to the tune of Rs 1,54,173 lakh crore. The State is successfully attracting investments. In the Starts Up sphere too Karnataka is in the first place. It is also the first state to formulate policies regarding Start Ups, policy for electric equipment and such other initiatives. He listed out the various 'Bhagyas' that the State government has implemented and said the government is following the doctrines of Basavanna, Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi of equality, secularism and social justice, reports Kannada Prabha.

In a survey conducted by 'India Today' Raichuru district won the first place. Industries Minister RV Deshpande gave away the awards.
