Rag pickers electrocuted for stealing cables!

A pump house owner and his friends electrocuted three Bengali rag pickers for stealing cable and one of them Basheer Sheik (20) died and the other two are seriously injured, reports Kannada Prabha.

Basheer, Ajmal and Hafeez from Bengal were residing in the City since one-and-half years, working as construction labourers. During their free time, they would turn rag pickers. They had put up a temporary shed at Lokesh’s field at Turubarahalli. Shabhareesh of Kundalahalli runs a water supply service from Varthur Lake. He has a pump house at Munekolalu, where motor pumps and cables are stored. A week ago, cables were stolen from the pumphouse. Shabareesh suspected the hands of Basheer and his friends and inquired. They refused any knowledge of theft.

Shabareesh called his friends Syedullah, Mujeebullah and Mittu and gave them Rs 300 to search Basheer and his friend’s shed. They found the cable at Hafeez’s shed. An angry Shabareesh, his friends Arun and Srikanth went to the shed, caught Hafeez, brought him to the pumphouse and thrashed him. He disclosed that Basheer and Ajmal were his associates in stealing the cable. Shabareesh and gang brought Basheer and Ajmal also to the pumphouse and tortured them. The locals who heard the cries of rag pickers, rushed to pump house. They were shocked to see Shabareesh torturing the youths.   

Shabareesh then allegedly electrocuted the three youths and when Basheer fainted, Shabareesh got scared and escaped. Basheer however, did not survive. The locals called the police control room and informed them. Whitefield DCP Abdul Ahmed the police are searching for Shabareesh, Arun and Srikanth.
