Reacting to reports that whether New Year's eve celebrations will be allowed late into night after last year's molestation cases, Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy has clarified that the celebrations will be permitted on Briagde Road and MG Road. But there will be a heavy security, reports Kannada Prabha.

He was speaking to newspersons after offering floral tribute to Jawahar Lal Nehru on his 128th birth anniversary on Tuesday at Vidhana Soudha. He said there is no doubt about permitting celebrations on MG Road and Brigade Road. Previous year the attack on women and the mass sexual assault had drawn national attention and police department had come under heavy criticism. There were questions raised why celebrations should be allowed till late night. However, Minister Reddy assured that permission will not be withheld but tight security will be provided.
