Man arrested for promising marriage rape forced abortion twice

A contractor was arrested by Banasavadi police for raping a 21-year-old girl, promising marriage and forcing her to abort twice and finally ditching her and marrying someone else, reports Kannada Prabha.

D Murthy of Kammanahalli was in a relationship with a girl since four years, despite knowing that she was a minor. Twice he forced her to abort. He had promised to marry her. But cheated her and married a girl chosen by his family. Upset over this, the girl lodged a complaint with the police. The police have booked him under rape, cheating and life threat. 

The girl had come to Bengaluru to study PU and was staying with her aunt. She met Murthy at a Coffee Day near her college through a mutual friend. They fell in love and he would often take the girl to resorts on the outskirts of the City to have sex. Twice she became pregnant and he convinced her to abort saying they should not have a child till marriage. Recently she came to know that he had married a girl chosen by the family even as he was having an affair with her. When she confronted him with the news, he threatened her that he would destroy her family. The girl has mentioned in her complaint that she and her family need protection.
