Deve Gowda strikes back J H Patel had shown his footwear to Siddaramaiah

Responding strongly to the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s comments that he was twice denied chief ministership when he was with JD(S),  JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda said “When Siddaramaiah came asking to be CM J H Patel had shown him his footwear,” reported Kannada Prabha.

After visiting the Gavi mutt, speaking to reporters Deve Gowda asked, “Who made him a DCM? Where were these people?”

“Is he (Siddaramaiah) a bigger leader than Ramakrishna Hegde?  That day when he came to Karnataka Bhavana in Delhi asking to be made CM, J H Patel picked up his footwear and asked how many days since you came into the Party? Are we all not there? And pushed him. Doesn’t Siddaramaiah know all this?”

“Today Siddaramaiah has money and power. Hence he talks with arrogance.  How did he grow?  Did he grow overnight? Siddaramaiah will soon realise the truth. How did M P Prakash and Rayareddy grow?”  said Deve Gowda expressing his anguish.

When asked about the JD(S) list, he said when the national parties have not announced their list why should a regional party hurry to announce the list. He said that theirs is a regional party headquartered at Bengaluru.

Responding to a question about Yeddyurappa announcing that the Mahadayi issue will be solved within one month, Gowda simply folded his palms. “I had approved Mahadayi project when I was the PM, even when we had multi-party coalition. Now Modi has a strong government and requested him with folded hands to approve but he did not listen. If Yeddyuarrappa can get it done, good let him do it” he said.
