- Suvarna News cover story investigation has led to the arrest of more than 100 beggars
- The arrested beggars include people from Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh
- The beggars' gang was kidnapping children, taking them to an unidentified place, forcing them to beg
Beware, a gang which kidnaps children and forces them to beg is in the City. The Suvarna cover story investigation has led to the arrest of more than 100 beggars trained in kidnapping the children from school, road and even from home.
Before giving money to a child who is begging with a sad face with ‘no food to eat’ dialogue, think twice, because these children might not be beggars but forced into begging and being monitored by their ‘mentors’ from a distance.
The Suvarna cover story had reported about the dangerous beggar mafia, which identifies vulnerable children and kidnaps them, not to be found ever again by their parents. Many cases of children missing from the city were being filed. Especially with festivals nearing, the gang kidnaps children, tortures them, take them to an unidentified location and makes them beg.
With someone from the gang always monitoring the children, it is not possible for them to escape. The kids are not only being forced to begging but are also being sold.
Based on the report, the central compensation committee (Kendra Parihara Samithi) under the leadership of Chandra Nayak, conducted raids in and around and have arrested about 150 beggars with children.
The sources also have told that the kingpin of this beggar mafia also has been arrested. The arrested include people from Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh.
If you see a child begging, don’t go by the sad face because no child should on the road begging. There are many schemes and government schools where education is free with a midday meal. Thus there is no point why children should be begging on the streets.
Beware of these gangs and do not let you children go anywhere in the city without the company of any elder.Â
