The Jnanabharathi police have arrested 6 persons, including a man who posed as a journalist of a leading channel, when they were trying to sell Ganja, reported Kannada Prabha.
G Kiran of Bhavani Nagar, Muddinapalya, N Hemanth of Manganahalli Cross, G Mahadeva of Jnanabharathi, Rohan of Mallattahalli, Sharath and Padmanabh of BDA Layout were arrested and 3 kg of Ganja, Rs 75,000 cash and other valuables have been seized. The police raided when public gave clues about sale of Ganja at Ullal Main Road, said the police.
Kiran runs a dog kennel near his house in Bhavani Nagar. He had created a fake ID card claiming to be a reporter of Suvarna News and tried to hide his Ganja business and also as a protection. Hemanth is an auto driver. Rohan is an engineering student.
The rest of the arrested are engaged in small business like vegetables selling. They are all friends from a long time and were selling Ganja for earning money to lead a fancy life. They would purchase Ganja from a man in Magadi, make small packets and sell to students around Jnanabharathi campus. This is the first time that Kiran and gang is arrested. The Ganja seller at Magadi is absconding, serach is on to nab him, said the police.
Meanwhile, at K R Pura, a Nigerian citizen was arrested by CCB police when he was trying to sell Cocaine to public. Kenneth Knwabunve, a resident of Ramamurthi Nagar is the arrested. Cocaine, mobile and cash of Rs 30, 000 has been seized from him. He was trying to sell Cocaine near Reliance Fresh mall and somebody informed the police who arrived and arrested him.
