In good news for all the travellers, the government on Thursday announced Vythiri in Wayanad district has become the first fully vaccinated tourism destination in Kerala. According to the government release, Tourism Minister P A Mohamed Riyas said that in the post-pandemic phase, visitors are looking for a safe and hospitable place to spend time. He said the government considers it vitally important to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to the entire stakeholders in all the destinations across the state.

The inoculation drive across the state has picked up the momentum in all the tourist destinations including hill stations, backwaters and other heritage spots across the state.
Earlier this month, the state tourism minister announced the initiative. Wayanad, sharing borders with Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, is a major tourist hub and is known for its stunning scenic views.

The minister said he feels blessed with the natural beauty and feels Wayanad has a great potential for tourism as it is a hub of holiday and leisure activities.
The inoculation drive includes employees of hotels, resorts, tour guides, taxi and autorickshaw drivers and everyone who are involved in the tourism industry. The inoculation drive was conducted by the doctors and paramedical staff of Vythiri Taluk Headquarters Hospital and Sugandhagiri Primary Health Centre.
