Tirumala Temple to remain closed on October 25, November 8 due to solar, lunar eclipses
The famous Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirumala will remain shut for about 12 hours because of solar eclipse on October 25 and lunar eclipse on November 8. The paid rituals, including the 'Kalyanotsavam' conducted daily to the processional deities at the shrine would not be done during the two days of approaching eclipses.

Due to the solar eclipse on October 25, the hill temple's doors will be locked from 8.11 am to 7.30 pm. A temple official told PTI that after some time, worshippers will be permitted to perform prayers. The solar eclipse occurs on October 25 between 5:11 pm to 6:27 pm and the temple doors will remain closed by 8:11 am and will be reopened after carrying out Suddhi, purification ceremony by priests by 7:30 pm.
Once more, on November 8, "Chandragrahanam" will cause the old shrine's doors to be closed from 8.40 am to 7.20 pm. The paid rituals, including the 'Kalyanotsavam' conducted daily to the processional deities at the shrine would not be done during the two days of approaching eclipses, he added. On these two days, TTD has cancelled Arjitha Sevas such Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Brahmotsavam, and Sahasra Deepalankara Sevas as well as VIP Break Darshan, SRIVANI Trust, and Rs 300 SED. All special darshans—for old citizens, those with physical disabilities, parents of young children, NRIs, members of the military, etc.—remain cancelled.
The Annaprasada Bhavan will also remain closed till the completion of eclipse. To minimise inconvenience, TTD has urged devotees from all over the nation and beyond to take notice of these details on the two eclipse days—October 25 and November 8—and schedule their journey to Tirumala appropriately.
