The family of 21-year-old Ritu Yadav finally cremated her body on Wednesday after preserving it for a month. Her parents had demanded for a second autopsy ever since she committed suicide and left behind a suicide note accusing four of her flatmates for informing her parents of shoplifting charges against her.

According to police officials, the preserved body went for a second autopsy today in the presence of investigating officer from GB Nagar and district administration officials.Eventually the father of the girl expressed satisfaction and cremated her body.
Ritu's parents had been preserving her body for a second autopsy using ghee and oils after they blamed the Noida police for conducting the initial postmortem in their absence.
"We have preserved Ritu's body in a five-feet-deep ditch as per naturopathy practice. We have laid down her body on flower petals and applied a solution of 'desi ghee' and 'attar' to prevent it from decaying. We have not covered the ditch directly with mud, but instead used polythene and wooden planks," the girl's father - who happens to be a naturopath- told The Times of India yesterday.
According to reports, last month Ritu and her flatmates had gone to a supermarket in their locality from where she tried to steal a skin-toner without paying for it. However, the store manager spotted the act and notified her flatmates the next day, who apparently informed the girl's parents. She mentioned in her suicide note that her flatmates were harassing and beating her.
The police registered a case of abetment to suicide against Ritu's four flatmates on the basis of a written complaint by Ritu's parents.
