NIA records statements of 18 police officers, obtains CCTV footage in Bengaluru violence case
After the National Investigation Agency took over the probe of the Bengaluru violence case, officials reportedly have recorded statements of 18 police officers from the Bengaluru East Division and CCB. They have also taken possession of CCTV footage from CCB officials who were investigating the case.
It seems like the National Investigation Agency that took over the probe of the Bengaluru Violence case is making attempts to take the investigation to a logical end. Â
The agency is said to have recorded statements of 18 police officers including CCB and DJ Halli, KG Halli police. The NIA officials have also taken possession of CCTV footage from the CCB which was probing the case.
Earlier, the agency had arrested an alleged key conspirator after searching over 30 locations in Bengaluru.
The NIA may also probe the links of some of the accused to terrorist organisations. Â

The agency has already put organisations like PFI and SDPI under its scanner and now with few SDPI and PFI sympathisers being arrested in connection with the case, the NIA will try to find out whether this attack was planned well in advance.
On August 11, Bengaluru East witnessed deadly violence after a Congress MLA's nephew posted derogatory remarks on Prophet Muhammed which resulted in 4 deaths after police opened fire to contain the mob. Based on the video and CCTV footage, over 300 persons have been arrested in this connection so far. CCB Police also arrested Congress corporator's husband Kaleem Pasha and also summoned former-mayor Sampath Raj and ex corporator AR Zakir.
