The policemen, assigned to guard an undertrial prisoner admitted to the hospital on March 28, were part of a team led by assistant sub-inspector Narmada Prasad Prajapati, along with constables Udayraj Singh, Jitendra Singh, and Manish Tiwari. Their uniforms were seen hanging nearby in the video.

An internal probe confirmed that the misconduct occurred under the influence of alcohol and flagged a glaring lack of supervision by the officer-in-charge. Acting swiftly, Sidhi police suspended all four personnel on charges of gross indiscipline, dereliction of duty, and tarnishing the image of the police force.

During their suspension, the officers have been attached to the reserve centre in Sidhi and directed to comply with departmental protocols as probe continues.
