Veteran stunt master Jolly Bastian (53), who worked in more than 900 Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films, passed away following a massive heart attack on Tuesday night. Jolly Bastian directed the stunts for the Kannada film "Masterpiece," starring KGF celebrity Yash. Aside from that, Jolly Bastian worked on Duniya Vijay, a Kannada performer and director, on his upcoming movie, Bheema.

57 ducks in Poonkao garden mysteriously die at Jobin Joseph's residence in Thiruvalla. The suspected internal poisoning prompts the sending of samples to the Animal Welfare Department lab in Manjadi, Thiruvalla, for expert testing.

Estate workers in Wayanad have resorted to encroaching upon the plantation as they have been denied their salaries for the past five months. Employees of Kalpatta Elston Estate expressed their protest by resorting to plucking tea leaves. The plantation workers highlight that their daily lives have become extremely difficult since the benefits were discontinued. It has been five months since the salaries of 216 permanent workers at Elston Estate were halted.
1:45 pm: 3 people arrested for attacking railway gatekeeper at Alappuzha
Three persons were arrested for assaulting a railway gatekeeper. Three accused were arrested in the case of assaulting Akhil Raj, who is the railway gate keeper of Chengannur Mathumpadiise at Kollam Thrikadavur Arunalayam house and obstructing his duty. Chengannur Police arrested Sino (21) of Kaviyur room, Akshay (23) of Cherukullath house in Othara room, and Abhijit (19) of Mannar Kuttanperur room and Abhijit (19) of Mangalamte Kattil Tekkathil house, who live on rent in Chengannur Hatchery Junction area.Â
12.20 PM: Autorickshaw driver dies after stray dog jumped across road in Mahe
In an attempt to save a stray dog that jumped across the road, an autorickshaw driver lost his life after his vehicle overturned in East Mahe. The incident happened on Tuesday at 6.30 pm. Sudheesh Kumar, an auto driver from Chokli, died today.
12.10 PM: National Green Tribunal issues notice to Centre, state over illegal dumping of endosulfan
The National Green Tribunal has issued a notice to the central and state pollution boards on the complaint of illegal dumping of endosulfan in Kasaragod. The expert committee conducted the study and directed to submit the report by January 2. The notice is issued for Kerala and Karnataka. The central team will reach Kasaragod tomorrow. The action was taken on the complaint filed by Dr. Rabindranath Shanbhog, a human rights activist in Udupi, Karnataka. The argument in the complaint is that due to unscientific digging and covering, endosulfan will be present in the groundwater over time. In 2013, a former employee of the plantation corporation revealed that endosulfan had been buried in a disused well in Minchipadavu, Kasaragod.Â

Gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh appeared before the probe team in Kannur in the defamation case against CPIM state general secretary MV Govindan. She appeared in a case filed by CPM Thaliparamba area secretary Santosh. The case is that she conspired with Vijesh Pillai and tried to humiliate M V Govindan.
11:25 am: Vaiga murder case: Father found guilty of killing daughter
The Ernakulam special court found Sanu Mohan guilty of killing his 10-year-old daughter Vaiga in Kochi. All the charges against the accused were proved. The incident happened on March 21, 2021. Vaiga was strangulated to death and thrown into the river by her father.

A man was injured after being hit on the head by the attackers with a beer bottle in Thrissur. He went to Pudukkad Taluk Hospital for treatment. According to Ramesh, the attackers later apologized.
9.15 AM: Carol group who youth on Christmas eve in Alappuzha held
Three members of a carol group were arrested for assaulting a youth on Christmas eve. Arjun (19), a Mannar native, Vijayakiran (19), hailing from Pavukkara and Ashwin (18) from Vishavarsserikkara were arrested for assaulting Reji (33), a Thamarakulam native, on Sunday evening. Reji was attacked while he went to see a relative. A roadside fight broke out between a group of carol singers at about the same time.

8.14 AM: 3-year-old girl sexually assaulted in Palakkad; accused in custody
A three-year-old girl, the daughter of migrant workers, was sexually assaulted on Wednesday at 5.30 am in Naduppuni, Palakkad. The accused (77), a native of Villunni was taken into custody by Kozhinjampara police. The child who was sleeping on the roadside with her parents was taken 50 meters away and subjected to exploitation. The child was admitted to the district hospital.
8.08 AM:Â Rs 7.86 lakh additional fund allotted for CM Pinarayi Vijayan's Onam feast
To pay for the Kerala Chief Minister's Onam feast, which took place four months ago, the financially stressed Kerala government issued Rs 7.86 lakh by easing treasury limits.
An additional fund of Rs 7.86 lakh was sanctioned for the Onasadya conducted by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The amount was released on the 13th of this month by relaxing the treasury limits. On August 26, the Chief Minister organized an Onasadya for the civic leaders at the Legislative Assembly building. Rs 19,00,130 were spent on Onasadya and the payment was made to the hotel on November 8, the Public Administration Department's RTI reply came out recently. With Rs 7.86 lakhs more sanctioned, the total expense on the feast rose to Rs 26,86,130.
