Kerala gold smuggling case Court reserves order on accused Swapna Sureshs bail plea-snj

Kochi: A Kochi court on October 9 reserved its order on a bail plea filed by Thiruvananthapuram gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh. The court will pronounce the order on October 13.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the court requested to deny bail to Swapna Suresh. The ED stated that there is crucial evidence against the accused Swapna in the case.

The bail application of the accused was taken into consideration through video conference. Additional Solicitor General Suryaprakash V Raju appeared for ED from Delhi.

The Enforcement Directorate in a chargesheet submitted to the court had said that Swapna is involved in black money transactions too.

The Kerala gold smuggling scam came to light after the Customs department seized 30 kg gold from an air cargo consignment from the UAE to the country’s consulate in Thiruvananthapuram on July 5.
