Karnataka to witness scattered rains on November 18, 19

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a cyclonic circulation is located over the Maldives in the Arabian Sea, due to this scattered light rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected over Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, particularly on Wednesday, November 18.

Bengaluru: Karnataka is set to experience wet conditions for the next 2-3 days, as scattered rains have been forecast particularly across the Coastal and South Interior subdivisions of the state.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a cyclonic circulation is located over the Maldives in the Arabian Sea, and an easterly trough runs from this circulation to southeast Arabian Sea.

Due to the cyclonic circulation, isolated to scattered light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected over Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, particularly on Wednesday, November 18.

The IMD has issued a yellow watch over Coastal and South Interior Karnataka on Wednesday, and just over the Coastal subdivision on Thursday. The advisory urges residents to be aware of the local weather situation.

IMD’s regional meteorological centre in Bengaluru has forecast light to moderate showers across the coastal districts of Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi on Wednesday and Thursday.

As for the South Interior subdivision, light to moderate rains are expected over Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, and Kodagu districts on Wednesday.

Very light showers are likely to occur across the districts of Bengaluru rural and urban, Chamaraja Nagar, Chikka Ballapura, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, and Tumkur.
