Bengaluru: The media attention has turned to Sandalwood over drugs being supplied to artists from the industry after the CCB found links through a drug mafia.

Adding light to this was Sandalwood filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh who made controversial statements regarding the same and claimed that the filmmaker could name all the actors who were regular users of drugs.

While many Sandalwood stars have disagreed with Lankesh’s statements, Indian National Congress member and businessman Nalpad Ahmed Haris has backed the filmmaker.

The politician addressed the media on Thursday and stated that he welcomes Indrajit Lankesh’s move on the drug mafia.

Haris stated that the drug mafia appears to be sacrificing the future generation of the country.

NA Haris stated that all drug cartels and suppliers in the country must be completely eradicated and “Young India must remain Young India”.

The Congress member stated that regardless of whether the drug users are politicians, movie stars or children of influential people, they must be strictly punished.

NA Haris stated that youngsters who have just begun to use drugs are not aware of how dangerous drugs are, until there is no supply and they start depending on it.

The MLA also claimed that the miscreants involved in the recent Bengaluru riots at DJ Halli, KJ Halli are also consumers of drugs, and the police must take strict action against them.
