India destroys 4 Pak outposts along LoC in 'massive fire assault'
- 4 army posts were destroyed by Indian forces.
- At least 20 Pakistani soldiers reportedly have been killed.
- Pakistan-aided militants mutilated the body of an Indian soldier.
Indian Army said it has destroyed four Pakistani posts in a massive assault across the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district.
"Four Pakistani posts have been destroyed in a massive fire assault in Keran Sector," an army official said.
Heavy casualties have been inflicted on the Pakistani side, he said, without giving further details.
The firing assault comes in retaliation to ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops in the Keran sector earlier in the day, in which one BSF jawan and a civilian woman were injured.
Top sources told NDTV that at least 20 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the "massive fire assault" by the Indian forces.
Earlier last night in Macchil sector, terrorists, aided by the cover fire by Pakistani Army, crossed the Line of Control in the sector and killed an Indian army jawan. They even mutilated his body prompting the Indian army to warn that "the incident will be responded to appropriately".
Since the 'surgical strikes' carried out by India last month, there has been dozens of ceasefire violations by Pakistan. Till now our army and three BSF personnel have died in the latest escalation along the boundary with Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir.
