It is not a good time to be an MP and have the surname Gaikwad. Why?

MP Sunil Gaikwad is going through a harrowing time because of the ruckus Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad pulled in an Air India flight recently.

The Shiv Sena MP refused to apologise and boasted of the clout he enjoyed and how he slippered the Air India staff for not providing him business class tickets. The result being Air India along with many other airlines banning him from their flights. It has been reported the Ravindra Gaikwad has been taking the train and road route to travel in the country. The MP tried to book a return ticket but it was cancelled by Air India, again.

The Gaikwad surname is what is causing trouble now. Recently, BJP MP Sunil Gaikwad found himself answering uncomfortable questions. He has called it ‘harassment’ and even asked if it was a ‘crime to have Gaikwad as his surname?’

He complained how he had stopped at security points at the airport repeatedly because of his surname and because he was an MP.  The ticket being given to him, he alleged was no longer of his choice of front row, but somewhere in the back.

He has even made a mention of it to Minister of State (MoS) for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha, who assured him that he will be looking into the matter. That is not all, even people familiar with the matter, using the Gaikwad surname ask the BJP MP why he beat the Air India staffer so mercilessly?

The Shiv Sena has been accusing Air India and other airlines of behaving like goons and taking the side of Ravindra Gaikwad.
