Ex-Army officer’s wife’s body bitten by rats in this private hospital
In Punjab, a woman’s body was bitten by rats in a private hospital’s mortuary. A retired Army officer’s wife had passed away and her body was nibbled by rats
FollowDera Bassi (Punjab): In a private hospital’s mortuary in Dera Bassi in Punjab, a retired Colonel’s wife’s body was bitten by rats.
The incident was reported on Friday (July 31) at the Indus Hospital in Dera Bassi. The family members of the deceased demanded an explanation from the hospital administration.
As per reports, the victim was identified as Jasjot Kaur (52), the wife of Colonel Amarjeet Singh Chandok (retd).
After the victim had passed away due to a cardiac arrest on Thursday, the body was kept at the mortuary as the family wanted more members to see and later perform last rites.
However on Friday the family was shocked to see rats had damaged the body.
Chamanpreet Kaur, the daughter of the victim was quoted as saying, “When I arrived to take the body, I noticed blood stains on my mother’s face and ears. When I asked the hospital staff about it, they did not give any satisfactory reply following which I informed my father. We examined the body, and found it had been eaten up at the ears and the face."
