A 16-year-old boy allegedly stabbed his father to death in a fit of rage after he was scolded for drug addiction, in outer Delhi's Buddh Vihar area, police said today.
The incident took place last evening when the juvenile caught hold of a kitchen knife and stabbed his father in the chest multiple times in front of his mother and a relative at their residence, a senior police officer said.
"The boy had been to a drug rehab centre but after coming out of it, he resumed taking drugs. His father slammed him for taking drugs and falling into bad company. This annoyed him and he killed his father," Vikramjeet Singh, DCP(outer) said.
The boy had stabbed his father fatally before the family members present on the scene could do anything. The boy stabbed his father multiple times. His elder brother and sister were out for some work when the incident took place, police said.
After neighbours had heard the cries of his mother, they called the PCR. The 42-year-old victim was rushed to Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital but was declared brought dead by the doctors, they said.
The accused did not run away after he stabbed his father and was detained by police. The deceased was a car cleaner.
Police said the accused, a school dropout, had fallen into bad company and was used to taking drugs. His father tried to dissuade him from drug use and often scolded him.
The murder did not appear to be planned beforehand, they said.
