The Trinamool Congress mocked the central leadership of the BJP by terming them as 'tourist gang'.

On Tuesday (December 1) morning, Trinamool MP Derek O’Brien targeted the Prime Minister, Home Minister, BJP central leadership on Twitter. The MP also demanded payment of arrears in the state by presenting documents.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has repeatedly spoken out about the state's arrears. She even made this demand in various meetings with the Prime Minister. Derek shared on Twitter how much money is owed due to a project.

According to documents provided by Trinamool MPs on Twitter, Rs 14,520 crore was spent on Sarva Shiksha Abhijaan, Rs 970 crore on the entire education mission, Rs 233 crore on mid-day meal, Rs 275 crore on Swachh Bharat Mission, Rs 631 crore on MNREGA, Rs 254 crore on Amrut, Rs 188 crore on enclave exchange and Rs 2,330 crore on BRGF. 


Bengal owes a total of Rs 85,720 crore in multiple sectors including Rs 438 crore and basic grant. In addition to presenting this ledger, Derek also taunted Modi-Shah. He wrote, "Modi-Shah's tourist gang is roaming in Bengal, they should settle the debt of Bengal first."

The BJP is striving hard to win the 2021 assembly polls in Bengal. The BJP is giving the responsibility of strengthening the organization in Bengal to five central leaders. The leaders are traveling to Bengal to complete their work. 

Earlier, the TMC had mocked them as outsiders. This time, one step further, Derek mocked them by calling them 'Bengal tourist gang'. It is expected that Derek O’Brien’s such remarks will create a huge tiff between the TMC and BJP.
