Warangal: A young man, who returned to Telangana from France on March 12, defied compulsory quarantine and got married in Warangal a few days ago. He came from France to Hyderabad with his friend on March 12.

The groom was supposed to remain quarantined for 2 weeks. The bride, groom and around 1000 guests didn't take any precautions which were important. After the marriage, the groom returned to the quarantine and the reception ceremony was cancelled.

Telangana chief minister Chandrashekar Rao has banned bookings of wedding halls for large-scale events as per the steps taken by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. The Telangana CM has urged people to limit the guests for pre-planned events to mitigate the COVID-19 effect.

The Telangana administration then termed weddings as 'public health hazard'.  Telangana has reported 17 fresh positive cases of coronavirus. On Friday, a group of 14 people including 12 Vietnamese nationals from Nalgonda district were taken for testing in Hyderabad.
