Kanpur: Amid the coronavirus lockdown, a youth from Pauthiya village of Hamirpur district in Uttar Pradesh pedalled 100 km on his bicycle to get married and bring his bride home. The groom, Kalku Prajapati, travelled to Puniya village in Mahoba district where his bride-to-be Rinki resided.

According to reports, Kalku’s wedding was scheduled to take place on April 27. However, as baraatis couldn't accompany him due to the lockdown, Kalku took his baraat on his bicycle.

He started his journey on April 27 morning and brought home his bride Rinki the same evening.

“As the police refused to give me permission to ride a bike, my friends suggested that I travel to my bride's place on a bicycle and bring her back,” he said.

The two were married at Baba Dhyanidas Ashram. “We both had dreamt of making our wedding an affair to remember, but never imagined something like this in our wildest dreams,” Kalku said.
