Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje and other passengers had a lucky escape from flying in a default plane as the officials found a technical glitch just before takeoff yesterday.

As a result, onboard passengers including the minister were forced to return to the parking lot till an alternate flight was arranged.

According to a report, Air India flight 9I 517 which is a Bengaluru-Hyderabad flight suffered a technical glitch and suspended the operation for 6:45 pm time. The minister was expected to reach Hyderabad by 8:15 pm.

The minister was informed about the issue and the officials who always deal with corporates and VIPs, sought cooperation from the minister and told her about the arrangement of an alternate flight.

The minister has asked the Air India authorities for equal and fair treatment of all the passengers.

Soon another flight was arranged for passengers traveling to Hyderabad.

This is not the first time that an Air India flight suffered a glitch. As per reports, in 2019, hundreds of passengers suffered a flight check-in software glitch. The servers of the flight were completely down and passengers were stranded at various airports.

One of the victims of Air India's technical glitch has been President Ram Nath Kovind when he went to Switzerland.

The President was to board the Air India aircraft to Slovenia from Zurich but was asked to stay in a hotel room for another three hours after 'Rudder Faut' was found in the flight which was rectified after some time by the flight engineer. An inquiry was ordered then for the glitch and delay.

Again on June 23 2018, a similar incident was reported of 'server down' due to which over two dozen Air India flights were delayed.
