20 TMC MLA including Suvendu Adhikari likely to join BJP today

Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah arrived in Kolkata late on Friday (December 18) night. The meeting in Medinipur is going to be the biggest surprise of his two-day visit to Bengal. According to sources, a total of 19 Trinamool MLAs are going to join Amit Shah's meeting in addition to Suvendu Adhikari.

Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah arrived in Kolkata late on Friday (December 18) night. The meeting in Medinipur is going to be the biggest surprise of his two-day visit to Bengal. 

Former Trinamool leader and state minister Shuvendu Adhikari may officially join the BJP today (December 19). At the same time, there is speculation that many TMC leaders along with Suvendu Adhikari will join the BJP in Amit Shah’s Medinipur meeting.

According to sources, a total of 19 Trinamool MLAs are going to join Amit Shah's meeting in addition to Suvendu Adhikari. It is learned that former and current Trinamool district presidents of several districts may also be present in Amit Shah’s meeting. 

Kanthi MLA Banasree Maiti, Barrackpore MLA Shilbhadra Dutta, Monteshwar Trinamool MLA Saikat Panja, East Burdwan Trinamool MP Sunil Mandal, Haldia CPM MLA Tapsi Mandal will be joining Shah’s meeting. Although the names of the rest have not been revealed at the moment, it is known that there are surprises in Amit Shah’s meeting.

Kanishka Panda, follower of Shuvendu Adhikari, said, “There are many TMC leaders who will join the BJP. The number is not limited to 20. About 70 to 72 Trinamool MLAs and 10 to 12 MPs are going to join BJP along with Suvendu Adhikari.”

Kanishka Panda has already been expelled from TMC for supporting Suvendu Adhikari. He claimed that a number of TMC leaders and workers across the state will leave the party and join BJP. As a result, the politics of Bengal turned turbulent before the assembly polls. The situation revolved around the split in the ruling TMC party and the rise of the BJP.
