We are together: Former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah on reports of rift with DK Shivakumar
Ex-CM Siddaramaiah has denied any rift between him and KPCC president DK Shivakumar stating that both are building the party together and are fighting against 'corruption'. Both were summoned to Delhi following an internal rebellion in the party with regard to who should be the next CM if the party comes to power in 2023.
As the meeting with Rahul Gandhi and AICC leaders involving ex-CM Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar is underway, just before the meeting, Siddaramaiah denied rift with DK Shivakumar.
He told reporters in Delhi that he was told about the meeting with Rahul Gandhi and others at 4 pm today but denied knowing the subject of the meeting.

The ex-CM claimed that he and DK Shivakumar are together and are building the Congress party. He also stressed that there is absolutely no rift in the party and expressed confidence of Congress coming back to power in Karnataka.
Siddaramaiah said that he and DK Shivakumar are fighting against the corrupt administration of the BJP government.
It is said that the party in its efforts to prepare in advance for 2023 elections is the appointment of office-bearers and is devising strategies and the meeting would revolve around these factors. This apart, the case of Chamarajpet MLA BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan who is said to have declared himself as a champion of the Mulsim community and making claims as 'Siddaramaiah as next CM' despite warnings from party high command may also be discussed.
The leader stressed that the meeting has nothing to do with power or constituency and contended that the meeting would eventually boil down to removing the BJP government.
Both Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar may also meet Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi later.
To a question on the current crisis in BJP and in case Congress gets an opportunity, will they form the government, he stated that Congress is ever ready to fight the elections but will not form the government now as chances of that are remote. Adding further the leader said, even if Yediyurappa steps aside, someone else will be made CM.
