Suvendu Adhikari has not revealed his cards yet. A day after resigning from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's cabinet, speculation is rife over his next move.

The Trinamool Congress MLA's resignation is being viewed by some, especially from the BJP, as a precursor to his exit from the party. But behind the scenes, hectic parley is underway.

TMC MP Saugata Roy has been trying to convince a disgruntled Suvendu to stay back and withdraw his resignation. Asianet Newsable caught up with Saugata Roy for a quick chat.

Why did Suvendu Adhikari take such a decision?

He has some issues regarding organisational matters.

What is your take on his resignation?

He (Suvendu) is still with the party. Yes I think he must be in the party.

Reports say he is all set to join BJP?

These bizzare reports mean nothing. This is speculation, gossip.

Did you speak with him and tried to convince him? What if he stays adamant?

Suvendu Adhikari, I spoke to him formally twice, informally many times. He has not taken any decision to leave the party. Why should we speculate? Let's see what concrete emerges (from the talks).
