Karnataka CM Yediyurappa to head to Delhi to meet central leaders; state Cabinet rejig indicated
Karnataka CM Yediyurappa will leave for Delhi on Friday as he is about to complete two years in office. Ahead of two-year completion on July 26, the CM is said to meet central leaders for Cabinet rejig and also for minister's post to migrant MLA Muniranta Naidu who in recently won by-election.
Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa is all set to complete two years in office and as a result, he is heading to meet central leaders in Delhi.
It is said the CM would meet national president JP Nadda, PM Modi and other senior leaders to appraise them about development in the state and also seek their nod for Cabinet rejig.
CM is likely to press MLA Munirathna Naidu's name to be included in the Cabinet as he was one of the MLAs who destabilized the Congress-JD(S) government in 2019.
Munirthan belonged to DK Shivakumar's camp and challenged the KPCC president to defeat him in the by-election.
Yediyurappa was forced to confine himself to the state due to the Covid surge from March-April and on a few occasions had to send his ministers to represent him. Now that the cases are under control and with his two-year completion, he wants to meet central leaders personally and thank them for giving him an opportunity.
It is said the CM had already sought an appointment with PM Modi, BJP President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah in this regard and a clear picture would emerge on Thursday evening about his Delhi schedule.
Last month the state witnessed an intense drama after a few MLAs demanded a change of guard. Following which, Central leader Arun Singh was sent to Karnataka. After taking opinion from MLAs and Ministers, Arun Singh stated that Yediyurappa is safe and later is said to have submitted a 90-page report to central leaders. He then said, only a few are rebelling against CM Yediyurappa's leadership.
