BJP will fight Assembly election under CM Yogi Adityanath's leadership: Swatantra Dev Singh
Amidst recent reports of 'all is not well' between Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Central leaders, Uttar Pradesh BJP President, Swatantra Dev Singh has said that the BJP will face upcoming Assembly elections under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath.
With a decision yet to come from central leaders for facing Uttar Pradesh Assembly election under Yogi Adityanath officially, BJP's UP chief has contented that the party will fight polls under CM Yogi's leadership.
Earlier Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy CM, Uttar Pradesh has said that BJP central leadership will take a call on facing the Assembly election under Yogi Adityanath in the coming days.
But on Friday, Swatantra Dev Singh, UP BJP President, confidently said that the UP BJP unit will go with Yogi's face in upcoming Assembly elections.
The president heaped praises of the Yogi-led administration, calling it like a noose around corruption and hooliganism, "We will fight 2022 UP Assembly elections." Swatantra Dev Singh was quoted as saying to news reporters.
Leader ducks question on alleged Ayodhya land scam
During the conference when reporters raised questions on opposition parties leveling allegations against some Ayodhya Temple Trust members involved in a land scam, the leader reportedly ducked the question saying, "Where is the opposition?" Singh left the conference midway, a report said.
Uttar Pradesh is the largest state in terms of Assembly segments as it has 403 Vidhan Sabha seats. In March 2017, the party swept the election with 306 and formed the government. PM Modi and Amit Shah then agreed on Gorakhpur leader Yogi Adityanath as CM.
