After rumblings, defections, loss after loss in elections, the Congress party still has not decided on its full term All India Congress Committee president. At present, interim president Sonia Gandhi is likely to lead the party until 2024. Interestingly the party has decided on second-line leadership comprising young faces to join and assist her.

Names of Sachin Pilot a firebrand leader from Rajasthan, Kumari Selja, Ramesh Chennithala, Mukul Wasnik and Gulam Nabi Azad from G-23 rebel gang is doing the rounds to be appointed as National working presidents who will be assisting both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in taking key decisions.

However, Rahul Gandhi who refuses to give up despite loss wherever he goes, is likely to continue to play a major at the top level.

As per reports, the party is gearing up for a complete overhaul in order to come back to power in the Centre and also in many states.

According to information, the role of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is not yet discussed as she is focussing only on Uttar Pradesh and is making efforts to rope back those who left the party.
