Rajnath warns China, Pakistan against any misadventure

During the inauguration ceremony, the minister indirectly attack China and Pakistan and said that the Indian armed forces are prepared to give a befitting reply if any misadventure happens.
India and China have been engaged in border standoff in eastern Ladakh since over 8 months in Easter Ladakh.Â
Without taking China's name, Rajnath said, "We have long witnessed unfortunate attempts to employ force to change the status quo along our unresolved borders. India is vigilant and prepared to counter and defeat any misadventure to defend our people and the territorial integrity at all costs."
He also said India is facing challenges emanating from multiple fronts.Â
Terming terrorism as a global threat, he said "Like many countries, India also faces threats and challenges emanating from multiple fronts. India is a victim of state-sponsored and state inflicted terrorism, which is now a global threat."
On the modernisation of defence forces, the minister added, "We plan to spend $130 billion on military modernization in next 7-8 years."

In this regard, the government has ordered 83 LCA Tejas to HAL for Indian Air Force.Â
Hailing the Modi government, the minister said many measures have been taken to strengthen India’s security and defence apparatus.
He said Foreign Direct Investment in defence has been raised to 74 per cent from 49 per cent through automatic route while 100 per cent through the government route.
