India has revoked beer tycoon Vijay Mallya's passport as well as issued an arrest warrant against him over having defaulted on loans of over Rs 9,400 crore. Latest reports now reveal that extraditing, Vijay Mallya, may be an uphill task as the 60-year-old confirmed that he has been a British citizen since 1992.

“UK is my official residence and this has been intimated to the Indian authorities as well.”

Since his 'escape' from India, Mallya has been living at a three-storey mansion named Ladywalk in the village of Tewin in Hertfordshire, located an hour's drive north of London.

“I have been a citizen of Britain since 1992. I have informed this to the Indian Authorities as well. And my properties in Ladywalk are within the framework of Law,” the Sunday Times quoted Mallya as saying.

The British daily report said that owner of Ladywalk has been mentioned as Ladywalk LLP (Limited Liability Partnership) and of its two members, one is mentioned as Continental Administration Services, being registered in St.Kitts and Nevis considered as a tax haven regions.

The paper reported that a bank loan had been availed in July last year for the purchase of this property from Edmond de Rothschild Bank, a bank in Switzerland.
